Yes. Every optional attribute from the sitemap protocol is preserved when present: lastmod (last modification date), changefreq (expected update frequency) and priority (0.0 – 1.0). These values are shown in the results table and included in the CSV export.

The tool can process very large sitemap indexes, but for stability we cap extraction at 500,000 URLs and 500 individual sitemap files per request. This is more than enough for the vast majority of websites, including large news and e-commerce sites.

No. The sitemap URL you submit is used only to fetch and parse the file in real time. Neither the sitemap URL nor the extracted list is stored on our servers or associated with any user profile.

The most common reasons are: the sitemap URL returns a 404 or is blocked by a firewall or Cloudflare rule; the file is not a valid XML sitemap; or the site is using a non-standard format. Try opening the URL in a private browser tab first to confirm it is publicly reachable.

Yes. Public sitemaps are, by definition, meant to be discovered by search engines and other crawlers, so extracting URLs from a competitor sitemap is a standard SEO activity. Always use the resulting data responsibly and in compliance with local laws.
