How to read this data

Method

  • Changes are detected automatically and published after human review.
  • Official means the vendor states it. Reported means it comes from third parties. We do not guess when neither exists.
  • A period with no end date means no end date was published, not that the model is still offered.
  • A month-only date means the source does not give a day.
  • AI Overviews and AI Mode show no training cutoff: Search runs custom model versions with no stated cutoff.

Where sources disagree

  • GPT-4o: the June 2024 cutoff is later than its May 2024 release because OpenAI updated the model afterwards.
  • GPT-4: we show September 2021. OpenAI's API page lists December 2023, which is after the release.
  • Claude Sonnet 4.6: the docs say January 2026, the help center August 2025. We show the docs' training cutoff.
  • Gemini 1.5: Vertex AI says May 2024, ai.google.dev November 2023. We show Vertex AI, which is model-specific.
  • Gemini 2.0 Flash: the model card and Vertex AI say June 2024, ai.google.dev August 2024. We show the model card.
  • Claude paid default: reports differ between Opus 5.5 and Sonnet 5.5 on Pro. Only Opus 5.5 has a dated report.
  • Gemini free default: since October 9, 2026 the default is “Auto”, which is not a single model.
